M.B Muralidharan, the Director of Board of Studies, stands as the inaugural Kerala player to surpass 2400 rating points in FIDE, achieving a pinnacle of 2420 rating points. As a former National Premier Player and 'B' runner-up, he has clinched numerous State Champion titles and excelled in various All India Chess Tournaments across the country. Notably, Muralidharan played a crucial role in the CRPF Chess Team, alongside luminaries like Nasir Ali, Praveen Tipsey, and Varughese Koshy, leading the team to consecutive victories in the National Team Chess Championships for four years from 1991 to 1997.
